The Brief

Floreat Park Primary is an Independent Public School that has provided students with a sense of belonging, purpose and community since 1951. They aim to foster a friendly school culture in which students are happy, confident and proud of themselves, their family and their school. The website needed to act as an important information portal to parents by improving overall usability.

The Floreat website was in need of rejuvenation. The team had to update and redesign the WordPress theme. The objective was to create more colour and personality to support their new branding.

For the design

• The main navigation was colour-coded to easily differentiate each section
• A sub-navigation menu was also added for parents to quickly access important information
• A slider was placed on the home page for important news updates and general school information
• Each subsection of the site has it’s own colour-coded sidebar with content relevant to that section
• For functionality, the school calendar with upcoming events was developed with a Google Calendar integration. Other tools were implemented that allowed Floreat staff to easily add elements without having to know coding, like tabled content.

The overall result is a more informative and user-friendly experience for both current and prospective parents. The school now has a fun and accessible communication channel.

The Result

Following the redesign and update of Floreat Park Primary’s WordPress website, the impact was immediately evident. The refreshed design infused the website with vibrant colors and a modern aesthetic that aligned perfectly with their new branding and school culture.
